We Will Rise,' came out on 23 April 2021 and was made with Chris Pepper at the Saltwell Studio and Tim Bond from Bookmatch Studio, near Cambridge UK.
'We Will Rise ' is a gritty, anthemic pop rock song with a catchy chorus and a searing guitar solo. The aim was to write a realistic song about the pandemic that everyone can relate to, but is also full of hope and determination for a better future.
Lyrics
1. It was the night of the unexpected - it took us by surprise Beyond our imagination, it fell from the skies Through friends that walked amongst us, easily it spread All the repercussions filled us with dread 2. We hid in the shadows, in the safety of our homes Far from our loved ones – but we had to stay alone Helplessly staring at the TV screen Whilst outside the world looked strangely serene Chorus We won’t fall, we will rise We will come together when we hear the rallying cry Bridge: Brighten up the darkness, we will rise Come together, we will rise 3. It cannot kill our spirit, our spirit can’t be crushed We will rise from the ashes, grow out of the dust One day we’ll come together like droplets of rain Turn back into rivers and flow once again (Chorus) Will we learn from our mistakes, will we live a different way? In harmony with nature, is this judgement day? Will we find a new compassion when this thing is through? A sense of community, turn old ways into new Chorus We won’t fall, we will rise We will come together when we hear the rallying cry We won’t fall, we will rise We will come together when we hear the rallying cry Brighten up the darkness, we will rise Come together, we will rise, we will rise
